Where the river IJssel splits off from the Rhine, lies the village of Westervoort. It was there 17 years ago that we chose for the English Cocker Spaniël and started our breeding activities.
Our first dog was an orange roan bitch named Bernice. Shortly after, she was joined bij our blue roan bitch, Sarottez. From her second litter we kept Charming and Caithlin. A few years later Popov and Dazzle joined the family. During this time we visited many shows in Holland as well as abroad.
In 2003 we moved to the southeast part of the province Drenthe, to the village of Nieuw Amsterdam, near the German border. This became the new home of our kennel, Brentpool's, with more space and possibilities to enjoy our hobby.
Besides exhibiting our dogs we also breed occasionally. We do not expect our bitches to raise more than one litter a year. We find it most important to breed healthy dogs with fine characters. Therefore we test their eyes annually. They are also hip tested at the age of 18 months.We spend much time and effort in socialising our puppies.This we do with a little help from our 9 grandchildren.
